Wasay Wahid
Director of Finance
How long have you been working for Coniston?
I have been working at Coniston for 5 years, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience helping guide the business through this recent chapter of growth and development.
Do you have previous experience in the glass/fenestration industry, or other qualifications that you are proud of?
I have been working in corporate finance for 10 years. My career has been focused on driving commercial strategy, building efficient teams, and helping businesses scale sustainably. Transitioning into the glass and fenestration space with Coniston allowed me to bring that financial framework into a dynamic, operational industry, and I’m incredibly proud of the strategic partnerships we’ve built across the organization along the way.
What does a typical work day look like for you?
In a strategic role, no two days are the same. My focus is less about looking backward at data and much more about looking forward at where the business is heading. A typical day involves looking to find efficiencies via automation, looking for ways to drive the business forward, and helping operations from top to bottom. I spend a lot of my time bridging the gap between high-level strategy and daily operational execution to ensure the entire team has what they need to succeed.
In a sentence, how do you think your colleagues would describe you?
I think my colleagues would describe me as a calm, forward-thinking partner who balances corporate strategy with a highly collaborative approach.
What’s something that you find interesting or enjoyable about working at Coniston or in glass/fenestration in general?
What I find most compelling is the intersection of strategy and physical execution—seeing long-term financial planning directly support real-world operational growth and market expansion. Coniston has built a fantastic culture where leadership teams work seamlessly together, and being part of an industry that is constantly evolving keeps the work incredibly engaging.
Outside of work, what’s something that you enjoy doing?
First and foremost, I love spending quality time with my family. Aside from family life, I am a huge sports enthusiast—whether I’m staying active myself or following my favorite teams. My other great passion is travel; I always look forward to exploring new destinations, experiencing different cultures, and taking time to recharge.
